Physical activities brought us a lot of health benefits and it's undeniably hard to ignore!

Even when you are busy at work or still has the hesitation to go on gym, there are still plenty of ways on how you can stay active even at home. Here are four activities that can help you stay in shape.

Move Around Your Home

Of course, everyone enjoys binge-watching on Netflix or just laughs around a million memes on social media. But the prolonged sitting or lying on the bed, is gently killing us.

Yes, it is!

Because our body might suffer from an extensive period of immobility, and this will affect our cardiovascular, respiratory, and hematological systems.

To prevent such risks, start to move around your home regularly. Brisk walking or jogging around the home can help in strengthening your heart and lungs. Especially these days where we needed to build a strong immune system as a preventive measure against any sickness and diseases.

If you want to take your fitness journey to the next level, ask any fitness professional to help you with your wellness regimen. And you know, the perfect time to start is always today!

Feed Yourself Healthily

I do understand that most of the time, you don't have enough time to prepare for your own meal. Especially, when you are commuting to and from work. The traffic that we have here (specially in Metro Manila) knows no time as well.

But as much as you can, avoid splurging on junk food or processed food as this will make you more vulnerable and weaken your immune system and, become more susceptible with chronic diseases.

And we don’t want that, do we?

We know that junk foods do not have enough nutritional value that our body needs. And during this period, we need as many nutrients to support our immune system in boosting its defense against external elements such as a virus.

A good balance of macro and micro nutrients helps you to stay in the game. Here are some healthy alternatives for your junk food cravings:

Exchange your sweet ice creams for a homemade smoothie or juices from fruit and vegetable extracts.

Have healthy snacks such as sweet potatoes, oatmeal, granola, or dried fruits and nuts as an alternative for your favorite salty chips

Make generous leafy green vegetables and citrus rich fruits always available at your home.

Stay Hydrated

Our body consists of 60 percent water and often we forget to hydrate ourselves until we feel thirsty. The sensation of thirst is our brain’s way to communicate with us to adjust the fluid levels in our body. Meaning, our body fluid is needed to replenish all the time. Especially when you keep yourself active. A hydrated body boosts performance during a regular workout.

Water also helps to flush out toxins in our bodies through proper digestion. Thus, improve your complexion for healthy and glowing skin. If you are not a fan of plain drinking water, add a bit of flavor to help you drink more. Start with infusing fruits in your water bottles with the popular combination--cucumber and lemon. You can add combinations with orange, berries, or simply add honey and mint leaves.

Consistency

Of course, consistency is the key to achieve a fit and healthy body. Even if you are a very busy person, our body still needs to have regular exercise. If you are not a fan of working out, at least allow yourself to have a regular activity at home to make your body become adaptive to a habit of moving.

Being physically active has shown to have many health benefits. More than physical, it also enhances our mental, emotional, and social health which we needed to strengthen most during these uncertain times.

Moreover, stay active, stay healthy, and stay safe! 🙌 😉
